Chad Tollefson Logging has a compete line of forestry equipment for maximum productivity. They only purchase machines that have been made with superior engineering and known reliability. As a result, they know their machines suit today’s jobs, meaning high quality production output now being combined with environmental responsibility on a long term basis.
2017 Timber Pro Track Harvester with a Rolly III Head
The electric over hydraulic arrangement allows the Timber Pro machine to multi-function, such as in moving about in tight spaces and grasping where needed. This dramatically boosts the rate of production for Chad Tollefson Logging. The Timber Pro is such a versatile machine, you can use it across mountains, in swamps and on hills. “The track speed is just unbelievable.” says Chad himself.
Rolly III Processor Head
The Rolly III Head is a Single Grip Harvester Head. It is intended fell trees directly at the stump, de-limb them and cut them into lengths all in one action. The Rolly II Head is ideal for many types of hard and soft timber cutting applications. It can cut timber up to 24” in diameter and then cut the logs to any length you like. All these characteristics make this processor “One of the best you will see in this business.” states Chad.
John Deere 753J Hot Saw Feller Buncher
The feller-buncher is the heart of the system known as conventional mechanized harvesting. The operator sits in an enclosed cab operating a boom that can reach out 25 feet or swing in a tight 360-degree rotation with the cab. The cutting head has two arms that grip the tree and another that holds previously cut trees in place on a platform. The saw, known as a hot saw, uses the centrifugal force of its 500-pound rotating blade to plow through a tree up to 24 inches in diameter. When the job requires cutting thousands of small trees, loggers use a hot saw.
Komatsu 855.1 8 Wheel Forwarder
On one hand, the new Komatsu 855.1 is at the forefront of development with respect to the forest environment and the operator’s ability to see 360 degrees. On the other hand, it is also more advanced than the competition with regard to productivity and forest products optimization. If it sounds too good to be true, Chad understands. Yes that is exactly what the heart of the matter is with the Komtasu Forwarder, a totally newly designed forwarder with the potential to change a landowners expectations for the better.
3 Fabtec Forwarders to Minimize Impact on the Ground for Timber Removal
By hauling the timber out of the woods with the Fabtek Forwarders, the ground disruption incidental to dragging it out of the woods is avoided. The forwarders will require fewer trips in and out to haul the timber and are very successful as you can get a full load for each trip. This is hard to accomplish with a skidder as they can usually only successfully handle a few pieces at a time no matter how small they may be.
